The Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) will “unweight” all grades which are weighted by local school systems and apply a uniform method to all grades throughout the state. Only Advanced Placement classes will receive a .5 weight added. |
| |
|
In Gwinnett County , 10 points are added to all grades in AP classes before they are recorded on the transcript. GSFC will subtract those 10 points, and convert the new grade to the 4.0 scale and add .5. (For example, a student earns a 75 in an AP class. This will be recorded as 85 on the transcript. GSFC will subtract the 10 points and calculate using the grade point scale for a C (2.0) and add .5. The grade point used to determine HOPE will be 2.5. ) |
| |
|
Unweighted grades of 90 or above will not have the additional .5 added. No grade point above 4.0 will be used. |
